Welcome to… Nanuet.com

Nanuet is a small hamlet in the Town of Clarkstown, Rockland County of New York. The community lies just 19 miles north of Manhattan.

Nanuet is home to approximate 18,000 residents, some of whom have deep ancestral roots in the community going back several generations to the early establishment of the area.   Every year, the area attracts more newcomers to the region.  People are drawn to Nanuet by the lower property taxes thanks to businesses like the Nanuet Shopping Mall that redirects much of the tax burden away from residential homes.

The comfortable price of homes in Nanuet are another appeal, with the average listing price at an approximate $400,000.  The solid increases in the price as well as the steady value of homes in this community make it an ideal investment opportunity, but that’s not the main reason why new residents make the choice to call Nanuet their home.

Best known as a community of neighbourhoods, Nanuet offers residents the amenities they need for daily life at a level that is much higher than the usual standard.  The schools in the town are small enough to personalize the teaching for each student, and offer enriched arts and music programs as early as second grade.  As a community, Nanuet encourages all of its citizens to participate in family events, festivals, parades and activities that are hosted throughout the year.

For the commuter, the average drive is just over half an hour, allowing plenty of time to get home from work and enjoy a sit down dinner with the family.   In case of emergency, Nyack Hospital is only a few short miles away in Nyack, as well as the Good Samaritan Hospital in the neighbouring town of Suffern.

Local businesses in Nanuet offer a warm invitation to come in and shop, browse, have a cup of coffee or just stop in for a quick hello.  If you’re accustomed to big city life, this can be quite a surprise when store owners greet you without rushing you to make a purchase.

Whether you choose to stroll the neighborhoods taking in the ancestral homes and admiring the architecture of years gone by, or have a family fun day in the park, there is something for everyone in the community.  Character combined with country charm, make Nanuet the place where nobody is a stranger for very long.
